ranting about holy week

So it's holy week again! what is holy week for most people anyway? well most of my friends would agree that holy week is means vacation! beach! a time with your family! or basically a boring week at home or maybe practice your squala (spell check please) techniques on open roads and highways (because most folks are in their provinces) within metro manila. or maybe check out hard to spot girls in your neighborhood join the parish processions (note: 2 chances, wednesday and friday) since this is only one of the few ocassions when they actually mingle with your hometown in a year.

So, how's my holy week? i started of with the Gabay roasting, then sleep, then karaoke, then look for an OJT, then panic about the IECEP-LTS, then start my own blog here, then watch cable TV, then had a reunion with 2nd cousins in Quezon (with lotsa food and alcohol), then go swimming (in an icy cold weather!) while taking some pictures here and there to eventually be published here or displayed in my friendster account. wOw! how solemn! hahaha!

well, i actually refelcted about life during the week! also read the bible and the PDL...(excuses!) but it's funny because when the ocassion calls for reflection and silence, that's when i (and maybe most of my friends) don't want or feel like doing it. it might be the "non-conformist" side of me that whispers "it's just a fad!" or the cynic in me saying, it makes me a hypocrite... sad. so sad... and i can criticize about certain practices all day because i'm such a blabber mouth but i'll spare the one who'll actually read this entry. (haha!)

come to think of it. after the bunnies, eggs and free coffee (from Starbucks) this Easter Sunday, i'll still "celebrate" holy week. i'll celebrate easter, even when the week is over. i'll commemorate the death and proclaim the resurection of Jesus everyday!

...because that's what makes me a Christian.

just a note: listening to APC's Judith at easter sunday (how ironic!), how many Christians know why Jesus had to die on the cross and rise to life again to save us?
