Going to school this morning, I just remembered this dialog from Ghost in a Shell: Stand Alone Complex [11:30pm in Animax]. I'll try to remember it as accurate as possible...

Hacking in a stored cyberbrain to look for a missing tech guy who lost his ghost inside, the Major got to watch a movie that drove her to tears. People who enter the cyberbrain seem to want to stay there forever and leave the real world, leaving their bodies ghostless and die.

After the movie, the Major went out and met an old man sitting outside.

Old Man: Did you like it?
Major: I'm not sure...
Old Man: Do you want to stay?
Major: No.
Old Man: Why?
Major: It's just entertainment. In the end, all that matters is what you do in the outside.
Old Man: You're a tough one...
Major: It's not real.
Old Man: So, you're a realist then...
Major: Only if you call escaping reality romantic.
